so have late 2008 13" macbook running mavericks (2.4 core 2 due/8gb ram). performance getting dated, , battery life awful on new battery (1.5-2 hours). usage not heavy, web browsing/email , rare photo editing , i'd stretch mac out year.
this, 1 thing ssd upgrade. question though, route should go after that:
option 1: clean install mavericks/yosemite , hope ssd upgrade sufficient old cpu/new software
or
option 2: clean install of snow leapord though support has ceased. if go route, 8gb ram not compatible correct? think 6gb max (unless firmware update allow 8gb can still used in snow leapord?)
either way, liked snow leapord best, , dont need new ios integration since i'm android user anyway. i'd hear communities thoughts.
has done downgrade sl mavericks, worth it?
whats best way new ssd?
snow leopard battery life?
i'm not sure have original leopard disk, have snow leopard upgrade disc use clean install if work?
comments appreciated, thanks.
a ssd upgrade bring great boost in speed machine. snow leopard able use 8gb of memory in model macbook long firmware date.
