Mac Pro 4,1 CPU fans go nuts when opening a game in Bootcamp / Win 7

hi all,

bought mac pro 4,1 (eight core 2.26 nehalem / 2009) firmware upgraded 5,1. invested in sapphire radeon hd 7950 mac edition. purpose use os x photo , video editing , windows 7 occasional gaming.

installed windows 7 in bootcamp, installed gpu drivers windows , set favorite game, world of tanks. performance of mac pro , gpu should more enough.

amazed hear cpu fans start running loud instantly when game opened (in garage view, not playing yet).

second either hide/minimize game or close it, fans instantly quiet down.

tried smc reset , checked there's no dust inside mac pro. can't believe there's nothing done fans i'm running out of ideas.

so, there can try or have accept mac pro runs awfully loud when opening game? fortunately doesn't worse when playing. suppose can't..
 

it sounds graphic card's fan noise, not cpu fan's noise.

may run furmark stress gpu, , use gpu-z monitor fan speed. check if noise same when play games.

hd7950 mac edition card quite noisy when under load. if that's problem, can use afterburner lower core voltage (0.975v works quit well), , hard tune fans speed @ around 31%. keep card cool enough less (and constant) fan noise under windows.
