13" MBA (upgrade to 8gb) vs 13" MBP w/ Retina for Medical Student?

hey everyone,

medical school student in less month , looking purchase either mba or mbp (as current base model late 2009 white macbook incredibly slow , beat up).

research, people recommend upgrading 4gb memory 8gb memory, plan do, since os x yosemite rolled out very, soon.

imagine using future mba or mbp studying (word processing, lots of pdfs, images here , there, video watching here , there) , entertainment (streaming videos, using airplay apple tv, might store little bit of music, not lot (~1000 songs sure, stream pandora)).

also, noticed mbp has direct hdmi port, think convenient connect tv, know amazon sells hdmi displayport ~$10 i'm not invested in having hdmi port.

have heard retina display beautiful~, absolutely 0 video/image editing , think staying non-retina display fine me since see retina display big luxury more necessity (again, i'm using late 2009 macbook right , have absolutely no problem way things look).

purposes, should go 13" mba upgraded 8gb ram or 13" mbp retina (comes 8gb ram)?

also, 128gb enough purposes? or upgrading 256gb recommended?

help/tips/useful advice can provide! appreciated!
