Yosemite 10.10 Hosts File

i have pretty extensive hosts file use block sites. prior 10.10 worked should. since upgrading 10.10 seems though entries in hosts file ignored. have tried moving entries top before localhost loopback, flushed cache, , rebooted. in cases entries ignored.

has experienced this? ideas or reasons why happening?

or, apple may cracking down on way host files used fake activation pirated software.
