iCloud advice please...

i'm sure there tons of threads subject, wanted personalized responses please.

icloud worth buying more space from? upgraded old macbook air (2008, 64gb sad) new macbook pro 13.3" retina. i've been using free storage icloud 4 years , synchronization in life of iphone 5s macbook pro perfect. love when edit note on computer gets updated on phone instantaneously.

having backups of things exceedingly important in life, in order have quick answers things breaking (although keep electronics in scary condition, phone 4 months old, no case, no screen protector , thing still in mint condition , best buy paid me $150 iphone 4 32gb when upgraded 5s in april). updated photo backups (since webshots went out of business years ago had no way of accessing photo collection other computers) , got shutter fly account not pleased low quality uploads (but pleased free storage).

music (~18gb) , photos (~5gb) have dvd-rw backups don't make new backups enough , don't have time machine set yet (as have 2 apple airport expresses , usb doesn't support external hard-drives, not external works anymore, trashed it).

anyway, advice on whether or not should upgrade icloud account? worth it? bandwidth downloading speed fast? support high resolution photographs? or recommend purchasing time capsule? or recommend purchasing airport extreme , external drive? want upgrade 802.11ac wireless because i'm excited wifi card in laptop , want test (i switched air 5ghz n wireless , tested speed , surprised noticeably faster) plus i'm trading in iphone 5s , buying 6 once gets released , know have 802.11ac wireless too.

upgrade icloud account?
time capsule?
airport extreme + external hard drive?

advice appreciated, guys!

your mileage may vary, i'll explain scenario , see if can glean usefulness it.

have macbook air, iphone 5s, ipad 3, , 2 imacs in household. have 21,000 tracks in itunes library , tons of movies i've ripped (aside many i've purchased via itunes on years). don't buy tv shows, watch them more once. keep media on external drive, connected imac, "always on" server music. of in itunes match, freeing room on macbook , using streaming when away house. since not 100% of songs matched, tend pull music locally imac (connected library) when in house.

use time machine on imac, backup not imac, separate eternal media drive (about 1tb), external 3tb hard drive. purchased 3tb time capsule backup not macbook air, wife's. have enabled icloud backups iphone , ipad, , weekly encrypted local backups of ios devices itunes on imac, more complete backup icloud nightly builds.

occasionally, update external drive keep off site, @ workplace, contains media (most important!), , time machine backup copies of imacs, , macbooks. in case. in area, i'm severely limited on household bandwidth monthly (300gb), backblaze or out of question, or solution, vice physically copying drive every often.

i'm @ point 99% of media purchased through itunes, it's protected...same movies. it's "legacy" ripped cds, , ripped rare vinyl i'd never find on itunes, @ risk. that, i'm counting on multiple local drives not failing @ same time (unlikely, albeit possible), , offsite backup, ensure i'm okay in long run.

say, use $40/year 25gb icloud, fills icloud backups, 1gb of mail, , pictures. i'll purchase healthy amount of storage when new prices in place. small price pay peace of mind.
