while going through this, keep in mind rmbp has few small scratches along bottom through everyday use , i've spent $2600 on laptop, includes extended warranty offered apple.
here's long dispute i've had company:
i've had rmbp year , 2 months ago hinges not holding screen properly, took store repaired under applecare , told me diagnose problem , me. day later received email technician stating physical damage because applied mbp 15" speck case on rmbp 15" wrong size laptop , caused stress on screen, leading loose hinge issue.(this nonsense ones sold me 15" rmbp case laptop , applied in store). told them , denied flat out, causing me go store directly , argue , forth employees , resolving issue when talking directly manager. (they ended cutting off case rmbp, claiming deformed case speck during manufacturing). technician called me next day stating repair difficult tightening hinges on rmbp tough job have replace entire display , ordering new 1 , take week arrive few hours install on rmbp. after week, go pickup laptop seemed alright , employee said "you won't having trouble new display"! when checked service order never stated replacing screen, tightening hinges.. found strange since explicitly told me continually did replace it, didn't think of since had rectified problem.
few months later using microfiber cloth clean screen , did closed lid of screen 1 , opened screen again, there curved black area covering screen on left/middle portion , right portion of screen remained flickering. went retailer bought , told them happened , told me diagnose issue , me (in service report diagnosed laptop few minor scratches , 1 longer, yet minor scratch charging port no other physical damage present). when emailed me back, said not covered under apple care physical damage through impact in charging port, caused internal component of display crack across middle. in service report did not state impact damage besides minor scratches , accused me of impact damage on edge of rmbp. (could justify caused impact damage in store?) talked 1 of service managers getting screen replaced 2 months ago through last repair , flat out denied it, stating tightened hinges(proving lied me new display while performing first repair in store). told me can't because considered physical damage cracked screen , cost me $1000 replace whole display , won't covered under warranty. demanded escalate issue apple, sent e-mail apple directly see if can issue.
next step i'm thinking of going directly genius bar @ apple store , explaining situation them see if can rectify problem.
u guys think , guys think should do?
advice, or guidance appreciated.
make sure apple involved, both in investigation of company/retailer solve issue having.
if applecare/warranty active, second part's process started here - https://www.apple.com/support/contact/.
let know how goes.
ps - why not naming company/retailer?
