both ios devices (an iphone 4s , ipad 2) appear have been mysteriously hosed overnight little or no explanation has happened. in either case, device sits there in itunes during sync "waiting changes applied". never completes, if cancel sync both devices act they're still syncing (spinning arrows in status bar) , subsequent syncs never start. have reboot both devices try again, never seems change anything.
has happened before, , usual solution nuke both devices , itunes restore (big whoop, they'd done copying stuff time got next morning).
have suspicion caused on apple's end, since nothing ever changes on here when decide stop syncing. there's nothing in console.app or device logs (via xcode) explain behaviour, nonetheless seems creep @ random of times , require reformat correct (it's fixed once- after ~6 hours of "waiting changes applied").
question this...
apple discontinuing signing on 7.x, absolutely have upgrade ios 8 if need restore devices? still have ipsw 7.1.2 (which both devices running), not lot of if itunes doesn't cache signing stuff anywhere. i'd click button , find out, i'm worried might send devices un-reversible upgrade mode (at point won't have choice upgrade).

yes have no choice. ios 7 isn't getting signed anymore. apple did not purposely make devices stop syncing.
