Mountain Climbing


hello everyone. wondering if there other folks here on macrumors ever dreamed climbing (very) high mountain? :)
dreamed of climbing mt. kilimanjaro (5892m) example. highest mountain/volcano of africa, believe challenge might 1 of few great achievements (aside of love/carreer/children) planet still has offer. people think it's crazy idea , don't see point of standing on top of mountain @ all. believe it's great experience changes way feel yourself. feeling have moment stand on top of 'normal' mountain (let's 2000m), after summer hike, can't explain in words. how intense feeling when standing on uhuru peak?
life changed though, met great woman, spare time had spend on law studies, ... it's dream won't ever go away.
although might never it, there people here had same feeling once? :)
because once have , start doing research climbing kind of mountains, learn risks: getting ams, hace or hape worst according me. of don't know is, it's speaking sort of mountain sickness when ascending high mountain fast, , when happens you'll have descend very in order survive. reason happens (and does) because human body has acclimatize altitudes, , ascending fast don't give body chance so.

to answer question: not although hiking mountains appalacians, rockies, etc. :)

see huge difference between hoofing mountain kilimanjaro or scaling verticle rock eiger, latter enjoyed in depiction portrayed in the eiger scantion. not until adult understood altitude sickness issue climbing tall mountains. :)
