Help me with my external from old HP using on my new to me iMac

trying itunes , running on new me imac, cleaned up, , added songs itunes, when go add new album external downloaded on imac, won't let me add files. pulled hard drive old junk desktop , made external, been fine 2 years. when looked @ info external found it's ntfs formatted , sharing , permissions - can read

how go using imac without loosing 7000 songs?

best usb nas adapters or put shareware on mac have paid update @ every mac upgrade tuxera or ntfs.

best bet larger external, formatted os x. trough boot camp , windows shareware mac drive , put both drives on boot camp partition , copy music files mac formatted disk. when finished boot os x , launch itunes while holding down 'option' key , choose new itunes library location.

third way new router can plug , share hard drive on it. way shared accross network.
