Major issues connecting monitor to nMP
received nmp in mail yesterday , go monitor has had major issues connecting. model nec multisync lcd2690wuxi , once considered high end. purchased apple thunderbolt dvi-d connecter thought there no problems.
got start weird flickering green screen see going on mac few seconds (login screen, setup assistant, etc.)...but there lot of static , go black of time. after restarting mac manually multiple times , switching thunderbolt inputs (i tried of them) inputs on of monitor (i have dvi-i , dvi-d) stayed. today put in new ram , when restarting same problems returned. did manipulate wire bit (where adapter is) , works few seconds , goes out. got work doing afraid touch or movement of wire monitor go blank again.
common problem dvi monitors , nmp? common problem apple's thunderbolt adapter? i'm assuming should replace adapter?

use nmp similar connection: mini dp (tb) dvi-d non-apple brand adapter, 6 year old samsung 24" dvi display.
no problem @ all!
cables or adapters should checked.
if display ok should have no problem using nmp.
