Off with their heads - contact photos in IOS 8

i'm noticing weird issue contact photos in ios. if edit contact , select photo, scaling , positioning it, clicking done, looks fine. if exit contact , go in, or if double click see recent contacts, image zoomed in more, cutting off head or @ least part of head. tips?
 

i had same issue ever since apple made them circular.
have been through them al again se happens time
