Is Apple Screwing Up The Third Party Keyboards in iOS?

i excited getting third party keyboards. had been biggest gripe ios (since multitasking). find ios keyboard primitive, compared competition.

have third party keyboards, seems ones i've seen pale imitations of android counterparts.

take swiftkey. it's favorite on android side.

first app downloaded after updating ios 8 , first app on new iphone 6+.

unfortunately, swiftkey ios sucks compared android version:

1. no voice input.
2. no numerical input on main keyboard screen.
3. no secondary keys (long press) in android version.
4. minimal customization.

wondering if it's sort of apple ui restriction, rather mere laziness on part of third-party keyboard developers?

in addition, apple prevents use of third party keyboards in many of own apps, makes inconsistent user experience.

btw, figured out can delete stock ios keyboard going edit , deleting it, doesn't appear longer @ all.

overall, ios 8 large step forward, still lagging behind android in significant , frustrating ways.

all limitations listed on developers of swiftkey. have ability add functions, haven't (yet). apple giving developers ability plenty of things keyboards, keyboard developers have long way go.
