iPhone Springtomize 3 status bar time date problem

i trying change add date status bar using springtomize 3.

enable custom time, , enter string:
m/d/yy - h:mma or m/d/yy - h:mmsa

happens time replaced actual typed out string shown in status bar, instead of representative numerical values.

doing wrong? emailed developer... no response.

appreciated, thank you.
