Verizon Edge, Am I missing something?

i'm trying figure out if using edge on verizon better deal contract pricing. no issues waiting 2 years, or longer, upgrade. not heavy data users going 10gb won't of benefit us. current have 6gb 3 lines , 2 days left in our billing cycle have used 4gb. looks on edge 64gb i6 run $35/month plus $30 line access fee vs. $40/month line access fee contract pricing. understand whole upfront cost , end savings after 20 months. if keep phone 2 years looks edge cost me additional $390 on term (when figuring $300 phone cost + $35 upgrade fee on contract). sound correct? have 1 line eligible upgrade now, moving it. if i'm missing obvious, it? savings? can provided. better wait until lines eligible edge in january?

contract:

$300 phone cost
$35 upgrade fee
$40/month line access ($960)

edge:

$0 phone cost
$0 upgrade fee
$25/month line access 2 years ($600)
$37.45/month phone payment 20 months ($749)
 

depending on how many gigs plan $25 or $10 off through edge.
