Verizon iPhone 6 (Edge plan) for 12 year old. Would you get AC+? Other insurance?

besides info in title state 12 year old's first phone has taken excellent care of touch. wondering how others have handled this. if weren't giving iphone 5 friend, keep "insurance." tia advice/experience can share.
