what to do with older iomega IDE drives

i have been cleaning out desk of peripherals, , came across couple of iomega ide hard drives, 1 plastic enclosed 160 gb, , other aluminum enclosed 250 gb.

repurpose them, use in sata icydock enclosures, how o ide sata?

, if wanted wipe them clean, there personal info on them, how secure, info not retreiveable?
 

depending on how concerned data, reformat clear it, or program dban overwrite drive.

there ide sata adapters, modern sata drives pretty superior in every way. tend quieter , faster, , can had practically give away prices in capacities talking about(newegg has refurbed wd blue 250gb sata drives $30, , refurbed seagate 160gb satas $25).

many of play older computers value high capacity ide hard drives, bit harder find sata counterparts , work great in computers mdd g4 towers.
