Tablets Android Tablet purely as Comic Book Reader?
i have ipad mini (pre-retina edition) , have been reading lot of comic books on lately using comic zeal.
however, eyesight poor , display small me read them in portrait orientation, i've been reading in landscape , swiping pages , down.
while works, far ideal, comics have text small read , i'm forced pinch-and-zoom.
furthermore, use ipad absolutely nothing else, macbook , iphone fulfill other computing needs.
such, i'm looking sell ipad , buy massive, cheap tablet, purely reading comic books on.
here top 2 candidates right now:
both have 1280x800 displays, both run android 4.2, , can buy each new ~130€.
main differences can discern are:
- gemeni q13 has 13.3" display @ 114ppi, weighs 1154g, , has access amazon app store
- lenovo ideapad has 10.1" display @ 150ppi, weighs 560g, , has access google play store
considering standard printed comic book pages 6.6x10.25", gemeni's 7.1x11.3" display far superior lenovo's 5.4x8.6". however, weigh more twice much.
main concern other hardware comic book reading application use. comic zeal wonderful on ios, best android alternative i've found searching seems comicat (google & amazon).
has used comicat? , have experience using android tablet has access amazon app store?
also, there other hardware suggestions or recommendations?
i've not yet bought either tablet, had third idea:
mounting 2560x1440 27" dell display on a posable arm in such way can use both @ desk in landscape orientation regular computing, , in portrait orientation when sitting in armchair that's next said desk.
display rotates, i've checked viewing angles , colours, comics nice on in orientation.
, intending on using large, comic-dedicated tablet when sitting in armchair anyway, don't want take out of house.
has advantage of both being far more enormous 13" tablet, , weighing literally nothing in hands. can use spacebar on bluetooth keyboard advance pages.
else read comics on large monitor in way? thoughts?
