My Mac has a Virus! Help

well have gone , done it.. somehow mac has form of adware on , annoying too. seems designed make money pop adds appear on browser use.

started when tried access chat site , stupidly clicked on 'update java' button defense disguised original update button anyway since message pop time.

“warning: current browser outdated!”

, add there adds on browser ever there space fit them there nothing, norm.. webpage randomly re-directed different website looks malicious

don't have "virus", more malware/adware.

:

- go safari / preferences / extensions, remove extensions did not install yourself

- use tool remove adware : http://www.thesafemac.com/art/
