Returned 6+, Lost Upgrade Eligibility

i preordered 6+ through apple , picked in store on sunday. returned apple store on monday - big. couldn't exchange 6 because there no stock exchanges. manager suggested return 6+ , order again online after 24 hour reset of upgrade eligibility. seems at&t has reset upgrade eligibility already, information hasn't transferred apple yet. can purchase through at&t without problem, when try purchase through apple receive following message:

"we found iphone order phone number. there's existing order phone number provided. can have 1 upgrade order per phone number @ time. you'll able place additional iphone orders once receive , activate iphone."

matter of waiting apple's servers update account? has ever seen before? there way around this? fiending new phone. at&t sold out. appreciated.
