Home sharing problems with ATV

equipment involved:
mac mini 2012 i7 16gb 500gb of movies on hdd. os on ssd. updated software.
connected router via ethernet.
atv3 connected router via ethernet. software 6.2
mp4 files.

have streaming issues when trying play content itunes. i'll permanent scrolly wheels , movie never plays. or, if does, stop multiple times while trying buffer throughout movie. works perfect. doesn't work @ all. restarting computer , or atv3 fixes issue.

atv has no issues playing content itunes store.

advice appreciated.

if have not done so, give router reboot. find tends solve buffering issues among many other home sharing issues.
