I'm new to unlocking, and need some help/information

hello, i've tried doing research on this, seem having trouble understanding , isn't possible. sorry if question seems should common sense or something, since can't figure out myself, hoping here might able me. carrying on.

upgraded 5s 6 plus. carrier verizon. have close friend lives in australia, on tellstra network, understand gsm. i'd let him use 5s, i'm not sure whether or not such thing possible. if possible in anyway, i'd figure out how exactly. if not, figured @ least worth try.

in advance, topic totally new me, , if isn't possible, it'd nice learn bit of this.
 

your verizon 5s unlocked , can work gsm sim in world.
don't need further.
