Macbook Air A1237 (original) - white screen on display - burned logic board? PIC

i received original a1237 macbook air. hinges broken , screen opens way, flat. machine powers on, , screen white. machine works when connected external display.

@ first thought meant either lvds cable or lcd panel bad. removed display assembly machine in preparation replacing either lvds cable or lcd panel (or both). upon closer inspection of logic board, noticed on on logic board, lvds cable plugs in, burned.

so, thinking lvds cable , logic board not culprits, replacement logic board in order.

i'm little surprised computer still works external display, despite burn mark on logic board.

others think?
