Looking into an external monitor

i have mid-2012 mbp (classic) , thinking of getting monitor when photo editing it's nicer have space. however, i'm not looking spend lot don't need best screen out there since hobby.

i'm rather clueless when comes picking out monitor , far i've been eyeing asus one:

love it's slim profile ("frameless"), hdmi connection, , has built in speakers (yes, know speaker set far better, it's still nice feature have).

don't need huge screen either , if move size, 27'' under 300 compared 23'' 200, 23 fine.

monitor, or there better in similar price range use? i've tried looking @ other screens, amazon keeps putting "new" next screens, have reviews 2011 or something. getting bit confusing of new product , isn't.
 

my recommendation take @ dell. bet others well. i've had several ultrasharp monitors on years , have been happy. if ultrasharp monitor series on budget, there other lines s models compete asus.
