can i swap keyboards?

hello again all. wondering possible swap 1 keyboard another? ie seperate top case? (non unibody core 2 duo 2.1)
need change case on mine top case broken. have found condition case 1 function keys different mine.
possible take keyboard out , put on ones top case?

or second thought if plugged key board in mine , changed function keys do? if work?

thoughts please!
 

the keyboard manufactured permanent part of top case, , replaced along rest of top case.
top case newer macbook may fit in place, keyboard connector different. it's not compatible older macbook have.
you'll need correct top case.
depends on macbook2,1 have.
late 2006 has part number of 922-9591
mid 2007 has part number 922-9592
2 _might_ interchangeable, better right 1 won't disappointed.
