Verizon letting me transfer upgrade twice? Bug or feature?

i have 3 phones, 1 dumb , 2 5s. dumb eligible upgrade transferred 5s , ordered 6. scheduled ship mid-october.

today, went upgrade screen on verizon , saw 1 5s grayed out (no surprise), other 5s upgrade date of next year (also no surprise), , dumb phone last year's date , upgrade status eligible transfer phone.

think? if try transfer upgrade status think let me? if does, think they'll notice , come charge me difference?

importantly, if charge me difference able return phone without costing me anything? i'll still have 5s ok.

other possibility: system let me , cancel out first upgrade?
