long time macbook pro user here. got feet wet new (to me) used 2009 mac pro (going setup owncloud server)... so, wondering why vmware asked if wanted install "superdrive". , got wondering... have superdrive?

yes, looked in hardware config, , sure enough. of course, then, not knowing cool star trek sliding door thingy, had google how insert disk.

apple! making things cool feel totally uncool. :-o
 

don't feel bad, bought first mac (mac pro) new apple in feb. 2013. ordered superdrive , got angry when arrived because thought forgot install drive.

after looking @ packing slip (which said had superdrive) jumped on google , found out how eject too.

worse, mine came owners manual , didn't there. still haven't.
