Help, Duplicates in numerous programs, cloud & devices!
hello all, i've gotten myself royal muddle. have tens of thousands of photos stored in various formats , programs. want consolidate , make ups onto external hard drives.
i'm overwhelmed , looking @ best solution. i'm getting lost , confused in using mac , hoping can suggest logical steps save me muddle.
currently, have filled memory on macbook pro. have photos in iphoto, image capture, picasa , dropbox. want put of photos in 1 place (how?) , run program eliminate duplicates. want copy external hard drive.
1 have helpful step step directions , suggestions on how this?

i think disappointed in automated process. expect slow, , manual.
key, many photos, use dam... , consider dam final home photos. suggested end state have of these pictures on external hdd. if there bunch of stored photos... missing point.
pull them dam... , begin process of organizing projects based on whatever organization method choose. then, start deleting dups.
stop thinking how "store photos"... , start thinking how "use photos". drive clarity task.
use aperture because think absolute best organization, aperture going away in couple of years. obvious next best choice lr. staying aperture until know follows. might move lr, or might move photos (or photos 2). don't know yet, since library organized coherent projects, rated, geotagged, , has tags people, special events, etc, etc... migration new dam trivial (or @ least straight forward).
need organized first... else fall place.
