MacBook Pro as a Law Student

hey everyone,

i'm going university in couple of months , thought "brilliant, time cliché apple macbook 99% of other uni students do!" surface pro 3 announced , remembered i'm bringing windows desktop me switching between 2 oses might annoying. sp3 considerably lighter , thinner rmbp (i've decided against mba, cannot justify price spec ratio , poor screen). it's tablet form factor has pen input might useful legal document annotations, hand written notes , like.

found out few issues sp3. reason have following questions:

1. uni (especially law) students here totally recommend rmbp, , can tell me how it's them in usage scenario?

2. rmbp automatically , scale when plugged in external monitor? on windows , sp3 have stick 150% scaling or manually change , log in , out, chore don't want have every single day.

i'm law graduate used mbp throughout studies , recommend mbp. , yes, macbook pro/air cliche laptop of choice amongst law students lol.

handles need studies , mac os x reliable os. law student you'll handling files such .doc, powerpoint slides, pdf files , browsing internet lot research (and procrastinating ), you'll using microsoft office (or alternative) of time.

windows machine can equally handle these tasks well, primary reason choosing mac because of it's far superior battery life , portability. battery life extremely important, you'll running , long lectures, seminars , library quite lot , don't want 1 of guys sitting near nearest power outlet in lecture or class cable across room tripping half students. also, reason why chose mac on windows because didn't want have hassle of dealing viruses , malware every , , rather have peace of mind when being stressed out studying. switching on mac os big decision me hardcore windows fan young age , totally alien mac os. not that, vastly expensive windows machine , bought in second year of degree.

question no.2, macbook pro connect external monitor/tv , automatically adjust screen resolution match new display. if aren't happy resolution, it's extremely easy change resolution , take few seconds change resolution preferred one.

can't speak surface pro, mbp perspective, it's more capable , recommend it. in fact, i'm still using same machine used uni type out
