i'm running 6-core duel amd gpu 3gb firepro machine (16gb ram) , running games under bootcamp external usb drive. assumed should able max out pc game throw @ machine results far have been pretty awful.. particularly frame rate , use of second gpu. turning crossfire off helps , makes games playable otherwise not far i'm disappointed gaming on windows 8.1 on machine. had better results on windows 7 running mere quad core imac this. can me understand why i'm getting such crappy framerates (under 25fps) when running @ high resolutions? because running games external drive not internal?
